Swapna Joined the CoBrA Lab in January 2019 as a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at McGill University. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University. After completing her Bachelor’s Degree, she served as an assistant lecturer at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, while she completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Telecommunication and Electronic Engineering. Swapna went on to complete her Master’s at the University of British Columbia where her research focused on multi-sensor data fusion for sleep apnea monitoring and classification.
In CoBrA lab, Swapna will mainly focus on machine learning techniques for segmentation of the hippocampus and its subfields, and she will also be working on applications on normal development, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, singing, playing board games and spending time with friends.
