About the Event
There is conflicting evidence on the effects of amyloid and tau on brain structure in preclinical AD. We will review the studies in familial and sporadic preclinical AD leading to the proposal of a novel biphasic model for the cortical macro and microstructural changes in preclinical AD. This model reconciles conflicting evidence and has direct implications in current clinical trials and hypothetical natural history models of the disease.
