The Decouvertes team was in the CoBrA Lab and Sylvia Villeneuve's lab lately. Their documentary features an overall review of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and the multi-disciplinary research fields focusing on preventing and treating it. The CoBrA Lab members work mainly on healthy aging and the early diagnosis of AD by targeting biomarkers, predicting the later development of symptoms. Dr. Chakravarty’s interview highlighted the ongoing projects in the lab, such as the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to predict AD up to 20 years before the onset of the first symptoms by using algorithms. AI in brain imaging can be used to pinpoint patterns that the human eye cannot see.
